As an economist from UNAM, I’ve built a diverse career blending my passion for education and technology. I honed my interactive teaching and communication skills as a mediator at Papalote Children’s Museum. My sales experience at Toyota Coapa further developed my negotiation and customer service abilities. Driven by my interest in blockchain technology, I actively participate in hackathons, winning first place for Vara Network use at ETHCincodeMayo and becoming a finalist at ETHGlobal San Francisco. I also secured second place in a Vara Network online hackathon. These experiences have enabled me to apply my economics and technology knowledge to create innovative solutions like Schola.

When did you start working on this startup?*

Schola was initially conceived at a hackathon in February 2024. After seeing the positive response and potential impact, we decided to continue developing it. We further refined our concept during a second online hackathon,

What other companies are solving this problem today or could if they wanted to? Why will you succeed against them?*

The current e-learning landscape is dominated by platforms like Coursera and Udemy, which often struggle with low course completion rates due to a lack of engagement and incentives.

While traditional platforms like Duolingo and Kahoot! have effectively used gamification to enhance learning, Schola differentiates itself by incorporating blockchain-based, community driven rewards and portability of certificates.

Schola empowers users to create their own learning materials and quizzes in a modular way, fostering a personalized and engaging experience that can be inserted to many instances, from hosted courses to iFrame quizzes. By leveraging AI and training a RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) oracle, Schola provides intelligent learning assistance, adapting to individual needs and optimizing knowledge acquisition.

What’s your current traction?*

Schola was born from our first-place win at the ETHCincodeMayo hackathon, where the concept was initially validated. We further solidified our approach by securing second place in the Season VI Varathon. We now have a live MVP of Schola at schola.space, which demonstrates the platform’s core functionality in a user-friendly, four-step guide. We’re currently in early discussions with universities to conduct proof-of-concept trials and are focusing our efforts on the B2B market.

Share usage metrics (e.g. WAU) and growth stats. If your startup sells to businesses, do you have any large, recognizable customers? If so, who? You may also mention businesses that have expressed formal interest, even if they haven’t started your product yet.Note that it’s perfectly reasonable to have low numbers or not even have launched yet — that’s often the case for most accepted startups.

current total fundraising : $ 5,000 USD

Which Alliance track applies to you from an investment perspective?*

Standard Deal

For 9 out of 10 startups going through the program, Alliance invests 5M valuation via SAFE with a token side letter (Standard Deal).

However, we’ve made exceptions for teams that either have strong product-market fit or in deep tech (e.g. L1/L2, ZkVM).

If unsure, please select “Standard Deal”. The majority of applicants selecting the “Non-Standard Deal” do not qualify as such.

  • Standard Deal: We’re looking to raise 5M post-money valuation.
  • Non-Standard Deal: We have strong product-market fit or are in deep tech. We qualify as an exception.

Financials

How much money does your company have in the bank right now?*

Please use USD for this question and the next two.

What’s your current monthly burn?*

We understand this may vary month to month, but use common sense to give us an approximation.

How many months of runway do you currently have?*

How long could you continue running your business without the need to fundraise?
